Hilario Ulloa
Hilario Ulloa is considered a prominent figure in the polo world. He stands out for his exceptional skills and extensive record of success in prestigious tournaments. He began his polo journey at a very young age, traveling and competing in various international events that established himself as one of the most talented players of his generation.
Among his international achievements, the most outstanding ones are his conquest of the US Triple Crown in 2010 and his four US Open titles (2010, 2014, 2018 and 2023), in which he represented emblematic teams such as Crab Orchard, Alegría, Daily Racing Form and Park Place. Hilario also left an indelible mark by winning the 2011 Gold Cup with Zacara in England.
In Argentina, where the best polo in the world is played, he has shone at different tournaments by winning the Jockey Club, San Jorge, Hurlingham and Tortugas Opens, the latter two with Ellerstina in 2020. In 2015 he reached the prestigious 10-goal handicap, a significant achievement in his career.
Throughout his career, Hilario Ulloa has won numerous awards, including Most Valuable Player and Best Playing Pony, as well as many other distinctions for the quality of his horses and his organizational skills. His passion for polo and his undeniable success have established him as an iconic and respected figure on the international equestrian scene.
The creation of his own club, La Hache, in 2012 demonstrates his commitment to the sport and his leadership.

For more than 30 years, the Ulloa family has been dedicated to the breeding and training of top-of-the-line polo horses in the country. The main breed is the Polo Argentino, a cross between the Criollo horse and the thoroughbred. The family's breeding prefix is LAVINIA, while Hilario's, in particular, is TRIUNFO, in honor of the town where his family has always had its organization.
The origin of both breedings comes from strings of purebred racing mares acquired from large stud farms such as La Quebrada, El Tala, El Vacación, among others. All of them were broken in by Polito Ulloa, an undisputed reference in the matter.
The first famous specimen of the breed was Lavinia Naipe, who competed for 10 uninterrupted years with Hilario at the highest level of the Argentine Triple Crown. Currently, her daughters and granddaughters participate in the most important tournaments in the world.
Our country is the world's leading producer of horses for this sport, and our breeding meets the highest standards, which enables us to compete with our horses in the Argentine Triple Crown and in the most prestigious tournaments across the world.
